"August 29, 1952: An audience at the Maverick Concert Hall waits -- and waits -- for the pianist David Tudor to start playing. Little do they know that the performance has already begun. Tudor did not need his piano that night. He was performing 4' 33", a piece with no notes, a piece of seemingly nothing at all. But nothing is never silent.
