Borrowing from Other Libraries: Interlibrary Loan

If the MLC library doesn't have what you need, you may borrow items from other libraries.

Follow these steps in this order to get what you need.

1:  Use the Place Hold button in the catalog to request items from other area libraries.  They'll be shipped to MLC for you to pick up within a few days if they are available.

2:  If you don't find what you need in the library catalog, you may request an item from MNLINK.  Use your barcode number and library password to log in.  MNLINK items usually arrive for you at MLC in about a week.  You may also request articles through MNLINK.

3:  If you've checked the catalog and MNLINK but still haven't found what you need, use our Interlibrary Loan Request form, and we'll try to get the book or article for you from another library.  This can take a couple of weeks, so plan ahead!

Please contact us if you have any questions.  We are always happy to help.
